President Biden says he will not supply weapons to Israel

The Israeli military continues to push into Rafah in southern Gaza, where over a million Palestinians are taking shelter. The Pentagon confirmed it is putting a hold on weapons shipments bound to Israel.

President Biden said “I’m not supplying the weapons” for an Israeli operation in Rafah. Republicans criticized the president’s decision to postpone a shipment of weapons to an American ally. The move comes amid reports that civilians were killed in earlier Israeli strikes using American bombs in Rafah.

Talks continued on a cease-fire and hostage deal and Approximately 2.3 million people live in Gaza; the conflict has forced them from their homes and severely damaged homes, schools, hospitals, and mosques in multiple cities.
