The Department of Immigration and Emigration today informed the general public not to visit for passport services without booking an appointment.
The Controller General of the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Harsha Ilukpitiya, said that measures are being taken to introduce a method to quickly issue passports within the next two weeks.
The department also instructed anyone who needs a passport for immediate travel to visit the department only with the relevant documents.
